Our sightseeing trip today was
focused on Centro, downtown Rio.
We walked .5 mile downhill from the B&B to the Gloria Metro station and purchased 2 Pre-Paid Metro cards for R$10 each. We took the Metro for one stop, exiting at the Cinelandia station.
Once at street level we came out in the middle of Praca Floriano, surrounded by stunning architecture and Cariocas headed to work. City Hall, the National Library, the Federal Justice Cultural Center, and the Municipal Theater all overlook this impressive city square.

We found the ticket booth inside Theatro Municipal and purchased 2 tickets for that evening’s symphony
performance.
